Amandine Delaunay

Amandine Delaunay is an illustrator and artistic director born in 1988 and living in Paris, graduated from ESAG Penninghen.

She had the joy of sharing the Sergeant's offices for 2 years, and of building friendships with the entire Team.

Passionate about old engravings, botanical illustrations and fairy tales, her images oscillate between scientific precision and dreamlike visions. Curious and enthusiastic, her influences range from Ernst Haeckel, Gustave Doré and Maurice Sendak, including Tommy Ungerer, Quentin Blake, Marjane Satrapi and Pénélope Bagieu.

Amandine Delaunay works with publishing houses (L'Ecole des Loisirs, La Martinière, Hachette, etc.) and galleries but also with prestigious alcohol brands (Moët Hennessy, Edmond de Rothschild, etc.). Inspired by the vibrant drawings of William Morris, she founded the Calico Paris pattern studio with her talented friend Richard Hello aka Shane. Together, they design wallpapers for packaging, home and fashion.

Since 2018, Amandine Delaunay has collaborated with the brilliant Xavier-Laurent Petit for the collection of Histoires naturel novels at the Ecole des Loisirs.

For Sergeant Paper, in 2018 she designed the "SPECIMEN" exhibition, a collection of eclectic and colorful naturalist plates, entirely done in black pen.

Fascinated by the animals of the far north, Amandine returns in 2022 with "MA CABANE AU CANADA", a series dedicated to her sister Lucie expatriated to the north of Quebec, on the edge of the thorn and fir forests. Feathers, furs and skins are entirely hand drawn and inked in deep blacks and ice blues. A polar journey into the great white spaces, to encounter wild, little-known and fragile fauna.
